Frequently Asked Questions | FAQ
1. Can I write to my sponsored child?
Yes! One of the most rewarding aspects of sponsoring is sending and receiving letters. We currently offer opportunities for sponsors to write their child once or twice a year. We are working on getting a system set up at the orphanage that will allow sponsors and sponsor child to write each other more often. When it's ready, we'll notify you!
2. Can I send my sponsored child a package?
Sending packages is discouraged as not all sponsors send them. This can leave some children feeling left out.
3. What will my monthly support help with?
Food has been the most dire need over the years. So first off, you will be providing daily nourishment that these children desperately need. Second, you'll provide access to a quality education. And then you'll help with miscellaneous budget needs like wood for their cooking fires, staff salaries (for teachers, cooks, security, maintenance, etc), uniforms, and more.
4. How do I sponsor a child? What does it take?
In simple terms, it's a monthly commitment of $30. When you are ready to sponsor a child, you can choose from the children we have listed on our "Sponsor a Child" page or you can go straight to "Easy Steps to Sponsor" and let us choose for you! (You can note age/gender preferences if you'd like.) If, for any reason, you are unable to continue sponsoring your child, please contact us right away!
